A Labor Day Tradition: My Denim on Denim Look
What a beautiful Labor Day it has been!! The weather went from drab to fab in 24 hours!! It was fiercely hot outside!! The breeze made it bearable. Lucky for me my Lane Bryant denim button up had roll up sleeves!
I've never been a fan of white. It always seems like dirt or food are attracted to anything I have on white. Not saying that I'm sloppy (I'm actually quite graceful) but white and I don't get along. Isn't that funny considering my love affair with black? LOL These white, mid-rise skinnies from Lane Bryant changed the game and just in time for a fashion tradition (no white after Labor Day).
Who knew I would love a pair of white skinny jeans so much? They had plenty of stretch and were a light, denim fabric. I paired my white skinnies with a blue denim collared shirt from Lane Brant as well! Denim on denim looks have become a popular trend. It takes me back to the 90's with TLC and Aaliyah (man I miss that good music).
I found these AMAZING "SLAY" earrings at the Halls of Art Accessory Bar booth at Afropunk a couple weekends ago. They were the perfect pairing with my denim look. Leah has so many beautiful pieces. It was hard to pick. She does jewelry and more so check her out!! I'm definitely going to order some more pieces.
I knew I needed to break up all this solid denim with a pop of color. Lucky for me Macy's was having a marvelous sell on shoes!! Most stores are transitioning from Summer to Fall so this time of year is a great time to buy sandals. I saw these pink babies and snatched them up before anyone else could. I'm not ashamed to admit that, while small, my foot is wide. Those beautiful strappy heels that I adore so much are my worse enemy after a couple hours. These were comfortable and didn't bother me at all while Steven and I were shooting!!
Tucked, rolled up or down! A denim button up and a nice pair of white skinnies should be a staple in any woman's wardrobe.
As always, be confidently you Curvy Gal!

Chelly O
