In Living Color: My Vintage Birthday Threads

Happy Belated New Year Curvy Gals!! It's my birthday and I'm celebrating it In Living Color!!  My look today is inspired by my fellow 80's babies and 90's teens!! 

I wake up and go to work every day just like most of you.  I wish I could say that blogging is how I pay my bills but, unfortunately, I cannot.  It may not be my 9-5 but it is definitely my LIFE!!    While that may seem like a bore I actually LOVE my job and the cool people I work with.  I am blessed to have found a career doing something that I LOVE (almost as much as fashion and blogging) and look super funky, chic doing it!! 

I have always been a quirky dresser.  I love mixing prints, bright colors and vintage finds.  This wonderfully colorful blazer came from Diva Express.  They feature tons of vintage finds for Gals of all shapes but, of course, I love their Plus Size vintage garments.  This blazer in particular is colorful, comfortable and, with a belt to cinch my waist, fit me like a glove.  The material is lightweight and feels great against my skin.

Yes I know it's Winter but who says you can't have a little fun with color during the Winter months?  I paired my sea loving blazer with a stretchy pair of red, high-waist jeggings from Rainbow, a simple white tank and nude sling back heels.  My blazer is a statement piece so I chose silver accents and jewelry to complete my look.  Gold would have been too harsh.  Pairing this look with neutral and solid colored pieces was definitely the better choice.  

Vintage finds are always cool and exciting.  It is good to remember that sizing may be a little different.  It is my personal opinion that garments were more true to size in the 80's and 90's.  Take a look at the measurements of the garment and make a decision from there.  It is safer to buy a size up and have your garment altered than to purchase something too small.  Diva Express does a great job at sizing their garments but you should still check the measurements prior to purchase.
